Hi everyone!
We recently purchased an Ovni 395 and have since brought it to Hamburg.Since we bought the yacht, the glow plugs have not been working. I have since found out that the 12 volts arrive at the glow plugs. Unfortunately, no current is flowing because the earth (the engine block) is not connected through to the battery minus during…[Read more]

Hi thanks for the reply, mine is a later boat that has no screws the window is stuck to the painted aluminum and the paint has parted from the aluminum..there is a big rubber like gasket that I guess is stuck to the acrylic and ighe paint, not sure if I am going to need to replace the gasket. I hope not as it’s very expensive to ship from Alubat

Thanks, the Vulcan anchor also score very high on the Panope testing, it’s on my shortlist, and Barry the “adventures of an old sea dog” also uses a Vulcan anchor. Very nice to know that it’s fits on the roller. The Viking has some issues for some boats.
I’be attached he latest report from Steve Goodwin. It’s important to remember that he says…[Read more]

We are a 385 but probably very similar bow roller, we have the rockna. Would probably opt for the volcan now but it wasn’t available when we bought ours. Been very happy with it although had to customise the bowsprit for the asymmetric a bit to clear the role bar.

Hi Ole. Not a direct answer to your question but after our deliberations mentioned above we went for a 25kg Vulcan which fits on the bow our 2008 395 (80) without modifying the bow sprit. We have spent a lot of time at anchor over the last few years and it has been great.

After watching a lot of “SV Panope” videoes I have planned to buy a Viking 25 anchor. my Rocna 25 have failed on me a few times.
I want to know if there are any issues with the Viking 25 and the bow roller on a 395 ?

On the right rear (transom) of the ship above the right opening hatch, just below the mooring cleat.

Dear fellow 435 owner,
we are searching for the factory stamped hull number. Does anyone happen to have a clue where to search? In our case it might be covered by paint, which I would need to remove.
Best regards, Philipp

I live in Scotland and the weather is challenging, so I am considering putting a hard dodger onto Nella (435) but have been hesitant as its really easy to mess up the lines of the boat. However there seems to be a collection of very recent Alubat videos of the 450 (and 490 and 430) that show a really nice factory built dodger.
Does anyone…[Read more] -

Hi Richard,
It appears that they have been replaced at some stage, as I can’t see aluminium screws holding acrylic asit was done in the factory.
Who ever did it, didn’t do very good job on preparation and painting. I am just about to embark on replacing mine and do away with screws, an d use only VHB tape to hold them and seal with silicone around…[Read more] - Load More
